Rekindling Faith and Acceptance

This century is of technology. The exponential pace of development far exceed human perception and imagination. Nobody could imagine that World Wide Web which came into  existence some twenty years back,  could convert this globe to a mere global village and communication became so easy.  In our life, we start looking forward to those inventions which are directly linked to our lives as a means for our emancipation, self-development and growth.

That’s quite mesmerizing for us to get caught in this vortex of technology. Ultimately we find that technology provides some direction but no salvation. Further, the technology intensive work culture environment, drive our brain and ensure a full engagement for every single waking moment of our life. We Google for every single question that comes to our mind and sometimes wander aimlessly in the aisles of internet.

During all this activities, we develop unknowingly a strong logical mind and literally start seeking logical explanation & validation for every happening before accepting it, be it our love, charity, sacrifice, faith, etc.  This  thinking thereby, leaves no room for those factors which contribute more  generously in our life, like faith and acceptance. Even sometimes we question our own self and near and dear ones good intentions and do not leave room for emotional and creative responses. This because all then is going through  the validation and trivial test of our logical mind.

Science in time to come may be able to unfold more and more aspects of spirituality, but even then it will realize that spirituality is infinite & unfathomable.  At any point of time scale the statement that “Spirituality begins where science ends” will continue to hold true.

Hence, when we come to rekindling  of faith,  we are overpowered by a logical mind. It continues to hammer and demands explanation from our own self for this concept. This not only blocks our acceptance but sooner or later we will reach a dead end of self-development.

Let us remember that the very edifice for self-development of any individual is faith and acceptance. It may not have an immediate correlation to the hard driven logics of our  logical mind.  The first and foremost thing one should do is to ground these logics and let fresh cool pleasant breeze of acceptance flow in.

How do we awaken the near dormant faith and acceptance at the initial go and let it bloom.  Well,  It is very simple. Let us go down the childhood memory lane. In our early childhood, we were inquisitive & curious about everything that was happening  around us.   We seek answers from our elders. It was only faith and acceptance we had in our platter. The logical mind was not evolved as yet.   By virtue of that, we learned numbers, alphabets, words and rhymes and over a period of time we built extensive vocabulary, switching ourselves from dialects to sentences. This nascent alluvial mind initially started with an investment of faith and acceptance and nothing more and that’s how we  imbibed & developed the capabilities that are with us today.

Then why are we overburdening ourselves with this restlessness and impatience of logical mind now. Where, over the years this gifted dimension of faith and acceptance has diluted and shrunk? On cross examination of self we find that in true sense it has been relegated a back seat while we were engrossed and enthralling ourselves by the dazzling worldly pleasures and gratifications. It is a disease of time, technology and we become a perfect victim of the prevailing  global culture consuming & annihilating ourselves.

We must never forget that we are human beings and this technology is our creation. This mundane world is a by-product of our thoughts.  We have to be humane and natural first and not slave to technology.  Nature, the supreme make us flow and we make the technology flow and not vice-versa.  Let there be no conflict in our self on this and let this be a defining line. This human life is a a precious life. All events and happenings of life are not governed by the push button action we determine, similar to like or dislike action on Facebook or by the Enter or Escape keys of computer. They are determined by the supreme and our actions.

Nevertheless, the moment we start acknowledging and nurturing  this dimension of faith, we start our first step towards spiritual revival. Thereby homing towards peace and happiness for which we  strive for whole of life.  It is very well said that faith can move mountains. It a fact, not to be chided but to be explored, analysed and assimilated. We only need to nurture it back with full care like we nurture a plant ensuring that it receives full sunlight, water and manure from time to time. Also not allowing the faith to be   overshadowed by logical mind.

Give the sublime faith  its rightful space, light and freedom and let it emanate its aura. Remember that faith is the only oasis which in desperation and sandstorms of life spreads peace and solace. Life goes through its own cycle. When nothing works in life and tides are not in favor, we anchor ourselves to faith. It is on this faith you generate acceptance of situation of life.  Acceptance of reality strengthen faith.  It is our subjective attitude towards these objective phenomenon in life that determines our faith strength. The non-acceptance of reality of a situation skews the perception thereby distorting wisdom and ultimately eroding faith.

Cleansing of Karma/Action

There are three things that are important for cleansing of the karma for benefit of the soul. With each passing day of life, we thoughtlessly increase the weight of the soul by creating karmic imprints.  Thus, it is important for us to reduce this weight on soul. We all, normally have a habit of accumulating things and various objects in life. Like we accumulate empty bottles, keep old laptops, music players, clothes shoes and what not in the basement. This happens knowingly and unknowingly. This habit of accumulating is nothing but a true reflection of our internal psyche. What we do externally is first generated internally in our mind. The thought gets converted to a karma or action. It is through this action we  fulfill the requirement of the very thought which generated this action. Here, we need to remember three things in life.

  1.  We carry out past with us like a extra baggage. The best analogy for this is the junk or rotten food. When the food is stored for long duration it is not fit for eating and becomes junk. If we consume this junk food, we will either fall sick or gain weight. In today’s time we have enough experience and people around us to prove this. This happens with the physical body. Similarly situation happens with our soul/Atman. We are hooked to our past memories as if they are our prideful possessions.  We only need to learn lessons from them and abandon them, but in reality, we not only carry this extra baggage for rest our life but also keep renewing them by recalling them from time to time. They, in any way do not contribute to our life, rather they not only continue to consume space in our subconscious mind but also act a mental block in addition to increase the weight of the soul.  Objectively it should be that the moment the events tense has changed from present to past, we should learn our lessons and let go the irrelevant past immediately for ever and ever.
  2. When we come across any  situation in life we are bound to act  towards it  by performing some  karma or action. This should be governed by a well thought action and should not be  merely  a reaction. For, all reactions are  drenched with reactive emotions. These can be positive or negative emotions. The moment these reactions get converted to action or karma, they generate a permanent page in the karmic file. This is a truthful fact  that many strong desires  are blended with strong desires & emotions.  For best achievements all our five senses should get involved in the process of transformation of these desires.  This process ensures a perseverance and perfect concentration required for fulfillment of desire with perfection. This whole process is called Saakar in hindi or actualizing it. Yet again, since this action or karma was propelled by deep emotional attachments, no doubt our creation was perfect to our desire but it has been equally successful in generating   another new page in the Karmic file.  True we need to actualize or create using action, emotions &  five senses for achieving perfection, but at the same time it should be our sincere attempt that then it should not result in generation of Karmic imprint. The more the karmic imprints the more the difficulty we create for our-self.  Such Karmic imprints are formed by emotional attachments and we over a period of time build a repository. Further, one attachment creates another and so on  it propagates.  These emotionally charged karma or action trigger a chain reaction and are like  a budding yeast which do not add up but multiplies every time and create an endless karmic cycle   How can we avoid formation of such karmic imprint for all our actions  and make it Niraakar or formless. There is a way to dissolve this karmic imprint before it becomes a part of  karmic cycle. Do the task which was  fueled by desire, propelled by emotions and executed by action involving all the five senses, but dedicate this back to the originator of the desire, the supreme with deep heart felt gratitude. This because you were not the originator of the thought, it was he who implanted it in you.  The moment this thought of surrendering to supreme get invoked with purity, perfection and gratitude the Saakar karma becomes Niraakar or formless and gets dissolved instantly  Thus, all karma should be done with alacrity, awareness and with eternal dedication to supreme. Let us remember we are only doer and he is the one who is making us do. He is responsible for generation of thought and actions. Then why alienate him at the last stage of results and inflate our ego and pride. Transfer the ownership with full honor and forget everything and be at peace.
  3. Next is, we should always remember that we are performing artist in a drama. Each one of us has been given a roll to play. Before starting the rehearsal, we understand and accept the roll with honor, practice each and every dialog and rehearse every action for the final show.  This we do, to ensure that the act goes perfect and appreciated and applauded by the audience. Well, life events are no different. We are the characters and performing artists in true life situation with different relationship around us. The situation are created as a part of that drama, and the audience for appraising us is the supreme, spiritual guides and masters. This drama  commences from birth and the roll is set up to death, We are expected to play our rolls with unconditional love, acceptance, forgiveness, faith and gratitude.   Once having accepted rolls, character and situation it should be our endeavor that we perform the same with all truthfulness,  wisdom and non nonchalant attitude  with peace & perfection. There is only one major difference between  a staged drama and this life drama. In staged drama the dialog  are previously written, we learn them and then we deliver them through acting. This is just reverse in true life situation.  We are at full liberty to read, write or deliver dialog extempore as per our liking with no compulsions. This freedom of speech has to be used thought fully keeping in mind the five core values of soul or Atman,  Any misuse generates a karmic imprint and then karmic cycle.  Further, in this drama of life situation created by supreme are not  problems but hurdles and situations meant to test our and enhance out capabilities and make us  learn lessons and improve our scores. A lesson learned and passed will never get repeated in life.
